Angela M. Bell is a senior clerk at a municipal courthouse in Chicago, Illinois. She has been in that position for more than a decade, with close to 17 years of experience in the profession.
Ms. Bell is a recognized expert in courthouse administration and file management, which are skills that prove invaluable in her day-to-day work. The bulk of her duties include handling administrative tasks and organizing court documents, which often means searching for misplaced court records.
Angela became involved in her profession when a friend within the industry influenced her to become a clerk. The highlights of her career has been honored as Employee of the Year in 2006 and promoted to the position of senior clerk. Her accounting education, hard work and determination are what she feels attributed to her success. Going Forward, Ms. Bell hopes to expand her role in the courtroom working more closely with Judges to help organize cases.
In 1999, Ms. Bell graduated from DePaul University in downtown Chicago, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She is an active member in her community, working diligently with charities and professional organizations.
The National Association for Female Executives, the National Association of Black Accountants, the Society of Certified Public Accountant, the Knights of Columbus and The Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW are just a few of Ms. Bell’s affiliations. In recognition of her good character and devotion to volunteerism, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Biographical Institute. In her leisure time away from the courthouse, Ms. Bell enjoys listening to music and walking for charity. She also spends time hunting for unique artwork, and has been fortunate to amass an intriguing collection which brings her much joy. Angela has two sisters named Linda and Toni, and wishes she had more time to spend with them.
